Accoustic-country-folk-rock, zig-zagging between Bad
Religion, Cypress Hill, Manowar and Elvis Presley:
Schmeisig combine the insanity of
Cologne Carnival with the sound of Johnny Cash with the spirit of TRUE metal and
the drinking habits of irish folk - mixed with some acoustic techno and
hip-hop...
Schmeisig from Cologne / Germany were
founded during an annual camping-site binge next to the camp fire. So they just
played the favorite songs of their teen-age – just without taking them too
seriously any more. After all it was just for the
sake of musical accompaniment whilst drinking and cheering.
Today, things
haven't change a bit: Schmeisig plays some
all-time-hits, that might have been punk-rock, hip-hop, irish folk or even heavy
metal - now they all sound like Johnny Cash beeing joined by the Dubliners and
Iron Maiden - unplugged.
If you visit a Schmeisig-concert, you
should be able to laugh about your own heroes, even
if that's Manowar or Elvis Presley - 'cause this is music to have a drink on!
